These Terms of Service govern your use of the ShareRide2Go platform. By registering an account, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. What ShareRide2Go is
ShareRide2Go is a peer-to-peer carpooling marketplace. We connect private vehicle owners ("drivers") making intercity journeys with passengers travelling the same route. ShareRide2Go is not a transportation company. We do not own vehicles, employ drivers, or provide transport services directly.
Drivers are independent individuals sharing their private journeys. Passengers pay to share the fuel cost. ShareRide2Go facilitates the connection, payment, and trust infrastructure.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this platform
You must have a valid Nigerian phone number
Drivers must hold a valid Nigerian driver's licence
Drivers must complete NIN (National Identification Number) verification
Drivers must register a Nigerian bank account for payouts
3. Driver responsibilities
As a driver on ShareRide2Go, you agree to:
Only post rides you genuinely intend to make in your own vehicle
Hold a valid driver's licence and all required vehicle documents
Maintain your vehicle in a roadworthy condition
Carry valid motor insurance that covers passengers
Arrive at the agreed pickup point at the agreed time
Not demand payment outside the platform
Not carry more passengers than your vehicle's registered capacity
Not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Set a fair price — prices significantly above the platform's market estimate may result in your listing being reviewed
Drivers who set their price above the ShareRide2Go suggested price and acknowledge the responsibility notice accept full liability for any passenger disputes arising from that pricing decision.
4. Passenger responsibilities
As a passenger, you agree to:
Be at the agreed pickup point at the agreed time
Treat the driver's vehicle with respect
Not bring items that are illegal or that endanger other passengers
Respect the driver's stated preferences (music, pets, smoking, chat)
Only book rides you intend to take
Pay through the platform — do not pay drivers in cash to circumvent the escrow system
5. Payments and escrow
All payments are processed by Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment provider. When you book a ride:
Your payment is held in escrow by ShareRide2Go
The driver receives payment 24 hours after the ride is marked complete
If the driver cancels, you receive a full refund
If you cancel more than 24 hours before departure, you receive a full refund
If you cancel 1–24 hours before departure, you receive a 50% refund
If you cancel less than 1 hour before departure, no refund is issued
ShareRide2Go charges a service fee of 18–25% of the driver's posted price, deducted from the driver's payout. This fee covers platform operations, payment processing, and customer support.
6. Cancellations by drivers
If a driver cancels a confirmed ride, all affected passengers receive a full refund. Drivers who frequently cancel confirmed bookings will have their accounts reviewed and may be suspended.
7. Disputes
If you have a dispute about a ride:
File a dispute within 48 hours of the ride's scheduled completion
Provide evidence (messages, photos, receipts)
Our admin team will review and respond within 24 hours
ShareRide2Go's decision on disputes is final

Use the platform for commercial transport (shuttles, hire cars, taxis)

10. Liability
ShareRide2Go is a marketplace, not a transport provider. We are not liable for:
Accidents, injuries, or loss of property during rides
Drivers who misrepresent themselves or their vehicles
Delays or cancellations caused by road conditions, traffic, or mechanical failure
Drivers are responsible for carrying adequate insurance. Passengers travel at their own risk and are advised to verify driver details before entering a vehicle.
